March first is our wedding anniversary and the date I always place an order for new Daylilies for our garden nursery. It takes me a long time to make my selection. My first consideration is northern hardy plants. Next are colors that are different from similar varieties that we already have. Last is keeping with our tradition of buying newer varieties. We are a small farm so I am not interested in how many cultivars we have for sale, but having a selection most people can’t resist buying.
We start selling and shipping as soon as we can work in the ground, usually the first day of May. Our pictures were taken in our gardens and not photo shopped, so the colors are as true as my camera could capture.
